In the spirit of us giving things away on a regular basis, we just added an unreleased version of “Control”, being performed acoustically and live on KTCL 93.3 in Denver last year. Kudos got out to Robert Vargus, Chris Babb, and Daniel Martinez who won our custom drumstick giveaway yesterday by being the first three to answer the contest question correctly. The response to the contest was pretty overwhelming and was a blast to do, so next week there will ANOTHER CONTEST. The skill testing question will be harder and the prize will be BIGGER! Scream for me blog readers,…SCREAM FOR ME BLOG READERS! Is what I’m sure Bruce Dickinson would yell at his computer screen if he wasn’t busy bringing the masses to their knees with the rest of Iron Maiden, on their “Somewhere Back in time” north american tour that I had the pleasure of attending, and screaming for when asked by the mighty Maiden frontman to do so.
Moving along,I nearly chopped of my pinky and ring finger yesterday while tearing some metal framing out of a doorway, which is fuckin scary when all of a suuden you realize,”oh SHIT!! Will I still be able to drum?The answer thankfully, is yes, but my hand will be out of commission for a couple weeks as it slightly resembles Frankenstiens hand.It took 8 stiches each finger but Im just glad I still got all my digits.Oh,I made sure to get booze on it right away, a little vodka always helps the situation cruise by.What also made the day a little brighter was recieving my “Tony Kirkham” Custom 2b drumsticks which I will give to the lucky person who can do the following.

Hey everyone, it has been quite the long stretch since I last blogged here. I have been spending my time in the studio with our Producer/Mixer, John Webster, mixing the album and teaching Grade 7, which has been a pretty awesome experience in itself so far. Teaching is something I do whenever we have downtime from touring, or extensive time off because it is the only thing I have found that can match the energy of being on stage. Most of you won’t believe me on that, but it is le truth. Plus it is just a great way to spend your days outside of music.

But back to the focus here, we have completed the mixing stage. What I can tell you is that we have 15 songs done. They sound great. This album is a real growth from Fears which we are stoked about. Mastering happens May 28th and then the artwork gets sorted, and Cassie’s stuff is looking really amazing. Basically we are hoping to put this out in the fall and we will announce a release date when we have one.

You should also be aware, that this album will not be coming out on Bodog Music, as we are no longer on Bodog Music. We weren’t dropped or anything, just that Bodog Inc. is under new ownership, and the new owners folded the entertainment faction of the company, and so our label situation is currently being sorted out. We hope it won’t slow down the release, and feedback from our management has been very positive so far, so we feel we are still in a good place. So please be patient but keep spreading the word about us and I think this album will be worth the wait.

I think will start blogging a little more because all the good shows are ending and you will have more time to read my inane ramblings, including thoughts on topics like how the world could end this summer when a massive particle accelerator by the science group TRIUMF will be powered up in south of France, 30 feet underground in a massive facility, to produce a particle beam so powerful, it will effectively recreate the Big Bang in a “controlled” environment. However, some scientists say it could also produce many mini-black holes and spacelets that will bounce around and absorb all the matter of the earth over the course of a couple of years until we are all consumed. Like it or not this experiment will happen, but hopefully we get our album out before then ;)

In the words of my good friend Axl…WAKE UP! ITS TIME TO DIEEEEE!!!!!….Well, as much as I wish he was, I ve never even met Axl, but I thought it would be a cool way to start my blizzog. Anywho, I am very happy to announce that mixing is DONE and in my not so humble opinion it sounds fuckin SWEEEEET!! In a weeks time it will head to LA for mastering and behold, it shall be finished. Then our part is done, but we will try our darndest to get it into your sweaty little paws asap.

On another note, I saw MEGADETH and CHILDREN OF BODOM last weekend and it ruled. Just thought I would throw that out there cause Im sure you were all dying to know…(crickets)

Hello Other People’s Children,

I used to sew a lot when I was younger, and due to a relapse of cabin fever I have started to do it again.

Sup trannies,

So I went to JJ Bean earlier to get a coffee with some friends.. and for the 2nd time this week I had a weird hot flash and wanted to barf. And I’m pretty sure it’s because of the coffee, which is fucking rude because I’ve been drinking coffee everyday since I was 12. I love drinking coffee. This is such piss off. I’M PISSED OFF HERE, PEOPLE. CAPS LOCK. SERIOUS.

In other news, I’ve been sewing a lot and making clothes and accessories and toys. All sorts of things. It’s like a cave of earthly delights here at my house! However, if I start knitting monogrammed sweaters you have permission to shoot me on sight.

Heres some pics of a little character that I call “Vampire Rain Buddy”. He’s an evil raindrop that sucks blood.

And here’s a fun fact: I AM AWARE THAT THE ABOVE CONCEPT MAKES NO SENSE.

Shit happens, dudes. When I am left to my own devices I sew myself friends. Also I shave parts of my head, but that’s another blog post. LOLZZZZ OOPS.

Now I am off to watch the next 50 episodes of Monster. (It’s an anime, it’s really great- you should watch it too)

Behind any moderately successful band/artist is a hardworking team of people who ensure that the artist is all over the internet (in a good way). We call these people our viral marketers, the guys who ensure that when we release something, anyone who is an avid web user will find out about what we are doing. One of these guys, and a good friend to the band, Adam Gershenbaum (who many of you street teamers know) will be saying goodbye and moving elsewhere in the online biz, his last day being tomorrow.

It’s not often that a band gets to outright thank the people that help them day in and day out, and as I am not waiting to win a Grammy or some stupid MTV award, the band and I wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to Adam (”Gersh”) for all his hardwork over the last two years.

If you know Adam from being a street team member, you will know he is a great guy, and if you don’t, then take my word for it. So if, you want to connect with him and keep up on his future endeavors in the social media world, check him out, add him, and comment him at these 3 places:

Without these people, you would not likely know who we are and we thank them hugely for their hardwork and dedication to our band (single tear…).

I am also realizing that you may be reading this going, who are these people and why are you telling us about them. I understand. My point of doing this publicly is to openly thank the people who never get thanked openly, and remind everyone who loves music that there are countless people behind every artist who don’t see the spotlight (and don’t necessarily want to either) but deserve a great deal of recognition for getting the music to the people.

I guess this is my “shout out” blog. Yo. Sup. Big up to my homiez. Ahh yeeah. Represent. Best be recognizin’ the illest peeps. Knowwhutumsayin’…*cough* it’s late, what do you expect.
