Hey from Robbie
May 25th, 2008 by Robbie
Hey everyone, it has been quite the long stretch since I last blogged here. I have been spending my time in the studio with our Producer/Mixer, John Webster, mixing the album and teaching Grade 7, which has been a pretty awesome experience in itself so far. Teaching is something I do whenever we have downtime from touring, or extensive time off because it is the only thing I have found that can match the energy of being on stage. Most of you won’t believe me on that, but it is le truth. Plus it is just a great way to spend your days outside of music.
But back to the focus here, we have completed the mixing stage. What I can tell you is that we have 15 songs done. They sound great. This album is a real growth from Fears which we are stoked about. Mastering happens May 28th and then the artwork gets sorted, and Cassie’s stuff is looking really amazing. Basically we are hoping to put this out in the fall and we will announce a release date when we have one.
You should also be aware, that this album will not be coming out on Bodog Music, as we are no longer on Bodog Music. We weren’t dropped or anything, just that Bodog Inc. is under new ownership, and the new owners folded the entertainment faction of the company, and so our label situation is currently being sorted out. We hope it won’t slow down the release, and feedback from our management has been very positive so far, so we feel we are still in a good place. So please be patient but keep spreading the word about us and I think this album will be worth the wait.
I think will start blogging a little more because all the good shows are ending and you will have more time to read my inane ramblings, including thoughts on topics like how the world could end this summer when a massive particle accelerator by the science group TRIUMF will be powered up in south of France, 30 feet underground in a massive facility, to produce a particle beam so powerful, it will effectively recreate the Big Bang in a “controlled” environment. However, some scientists say it could also produce many mini-black holes and spacelets that will bounce around and absorb all the matter of the earth over the course of a couple of years until we are all consumed. Like it or not this experiment will happen, but hopefully we get our album out before then ;)

Hey, don’t worry about the label, some of the best stuff has been released sans-label! Scylla’s demos for one, or Kinesis’ second album! And anyone that doesn’t want to snatch you up is just a [profanity], so whatever! :)
And the world isn’t going to end until 2012, on the 21st of December. It’s the end of the Mayan calander for a start, then there’s Yellowstone that’s being predicted to erupt around that time, plus the Earth will switch it’s magnetic field to polar opposites, as well as the galaxy shifting from one angle to the next and a bunch of stars being in alignment…
…If you believe that sort of thing!
Good luck with the teaching!

Dang.. be beat me. >.<
The lead vox for Flobots is a teacher also!
Do you know the possibilities for a new label? That’s so random that they would just quit their label. Hum. Whatever floats their boat.
Pft.. if the world ends any time soon, I’m blaming France… and I’ll punch them in the face.

You’re making me even more anxious for the new album now!! Too bad about the label though. Any word if Bif is getting the rights back to HRMR? What about other artists that were on Bodog - Britt Black for example (well, Stay Beautiful now)?? It’s a shame how Bodog would just close the label, rather than at least try to sell it to a different party. I’m sure Bif would’ve bought it back, considering they didn’t want a premium for it… Ah well. Good luck with finding a new label! Why not try 604 Records!!
And I always knew we couldn’t trust the French. Now look!!! I was right all along!

Heh, remember, the world is allways an inch away from complete and uter destruction.
No worries ;}
Want to hear music now!… But will wait patiently.. for now Muahaha!

Muahah! Beat you this time, Rhiannon!
Uh, just gotta ask though, what’s happening with the Street Team if you’re no longer with Bodog? I’m still very interested in being a part of that (as I’m sure others are), so can you let us know what’s going on?
Cheers! :)

Dude, I have been following what is going on at CERN. Check it, I follow this tech reporter Robert Scoble on Twitter and he got to tour the CERN facility. It is huge.

Random fact: CERN is also the place where the internet was invented.

You can’t believe the hate I feel for myself! I’ve let time go as well as TVBS!!!!! I was in a non-record buying drought for about 3 years because I couldn’t find anybody with a sound that really set me on fire. Then I snatched up one of the few copies I could scrounge up in STL of Fears In The Water and two years later, I’m itchin’ to add to my TVBS 13 song collection! I sorta got busy graduating high school and forgot you guys. Then some of my favorite bands started hitting the road and I began wondering about TVBS. But you’re not on tour :( If you guys hit the streets again, definitely try Pop’s in Sauget, IL or The Pageant in the STL!!!I’ve never bought an album the day it’s dropped but I assure you, you’ll be my first!
By the way, now that I’ve got that whole “graduating high school” thing out of the way, the next place I’m headed is college for my degree in Secondary Education!
